Transfering letters to wood [May. 14th, 2007|10:33 am]
Crafty submissives & slaves
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for putting words on wooden surfaces. Basically I want the text to look like print. I have used Lettraset transfer letters in the past, but I am not sure how long they would hold up, in this case: I want to add words to a wooden ruler that would be used for spanking (god willing ;-)

I don't know if adding varnish would be sufficient to hold the Lettraset in place long-term, and how the varnish would alter the wood's... sensations.

Any ideas?

Drat. I gave away my wood burning set not too long ago because I hadn't used it in years...
(But thank you!)

have you tried those rub-on letters from the craft store? I've never put them on wood so I don't know how long-lasting it would be. But maybe once you put a top coat on...

Design letters as templates.. Print on paper. Use knife & board to carefully cut out letters. place templates on wood. Cover in between carefully with sufficient paper, newspaper. Make sure every single area except the letters is covered. Apply with spray paint/or brush on, any choice of colour! :)

That's how I 'might do it' :)
